Robin Hood's Annual Benefit Returns to Fight for a Better New York
Alicia Keys, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, The Jonas Brothers, and more will join forces to reinvigorate the fight against poverty in NYC.
WHAT: Robin Hood, the largest poverty fighting organization in New York City, is bringing people together once again for its Annual Benefit to raise funds that will elevate its impact to new heights, while celebrating the greatest and most resilient city on earth. Hosted by Cecily Strong, the benefit will feature a concert by The Jonas Brothers, and will include special appearances by Alicia Keys, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, and more.
This fall is one of new beginnings and now is the moment to innovate, reform, and rebuild New York City. Too many New Yorkers are left without vital resources, and with the proceeds of Robin Hood’s Annual Benefit, the organization is working to get families back on their feet, kids back on track, and New Yorkers back to work. October 20th is an opportunity to acknowledge the monumental work ahead of us, but also to celebrate how far we’ve come, with 100% of every donation going directly to the most impactful poverty-fighting programs in New York City.
The event takes place on the 20th anniversary of Robin Hood’s historic Concert for New York City. To further commemorate the anniversary, iHeartRadio and Robin Hood will re-air the original telecast of the Concert for New York City on MTV. The concert was one of the most successful fundraising concerts in history, bringing together the biggest musicians and entertainers from around the world, raising over $35 million for the survivors and families of the terrorist attacks that took place on September 11, 2001.
Additionally, the Empire State Building will be lit up in Robin Hood Green for the benefit in celebration of bringing New Yorkers back together once again. Support from the evening will be felt by the New York families who need it most as we build a better New York.
WHEN: Wednesday, October 20, 2021 | 5:45PM Cocktails | 7:00PM Dinner
WHERE: Javits Center, NYC
About Robin Hood:
Robin Hood has been fighting poverty in New York City since 1988. Because Robin Hood’s board covers all overhead, 100% of every donation goes directly to the poverty fight. Last year, Robin Hood awarded $172 million in grants, filling a critical void during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing cash assistance, meals, housing, healthcare, education, and other urgent needs to one million New Yorkers impacted by COVID-19, as well as funding an array of programs and initiatives developed to elevate families out of poverty in New York City.
