Annual J.P. Morgan / Robin Hood Investors Conference Closes With Record Attendance and Hits Watershed Mark in Support of Reducing Poverty in NYC
Speakers included Jamie Dimon, Barry Sternlicht, Karen Karniol-Tambour, David Einhorn, Lee S. Ainslie III, Mary Callahan Erdoes, Mohammed Anjarwala, Kenneth G. Tropin, and Paul Tudor Jones II. Conference attendance at an all-time high. Proceeds from the conference have generated more than $61 million over twelve years.
NEW YORK, NY – October 24, 2024 – Robin Hood, New York’s largest local poverty-fighting philanthropy, closed out its 12th annual J.P. Morgan / Robin Hood Investors Conference yesterday, attracting a sold-out audience of nearly 700 attendees. Over the last twelve years, proceeds from the conference have accumulated more than $61 million to fight poverty in the nation’s largest metropolis.
The conference, which draws experts across finance, tech, government, and academia, marked a milestone as J.P. Morgan welcomed 100 top CIO clients from its Asset Management franchise, representing 15 countries and $11 trillion in capital. The forum, renowned for featuring leading names in business, investing, and policy, shares investment insights, market perspectives, and bespoke strategies that drive success.

- An economic policy overview for the 2024 election cycle with Scott Bessent (Key Square Group) and Daleep Singh (The White House), moderated by Nancy Lazar (Piper Sandler).
- Fireside chats with Jamie Dimon (JPMorganChase) and an Allocators’ Perspective with Jonathan Grabel (LACERA) and Jeffrey Jaensubhakij (GIC Private Limited), moderated by Ash Williams (J.P. Morgan Asset Management).
- ‘Investing in Sports’ with Marc Lasry (Avenue Capital Group) and Michael Strahan, moderated by Mary Callahan Erdoes (J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management).
- A ‘Long / Short Equity Perspective’ with Gavin Baker(Atreides Management), Anthony Bozza (Lakewood Capital Management), and Justin Lubell (Citadel), moderated by Lee S. Ainslie III (Maverick Capital).
- Fireside chats with Joe Lonsdale, (8VC) and Karen Karniol–Tambour (Bridgewater Associates) and a flash class on the convergence of public and private credit presented by John Zito (Apollo Global Management).
- The conference concluded with a ‘Tech Legend Perspective’ from Bill Gates (Gates Foundation) and an interview by Stephanie Ruhle (MSNBC).
Each year, a select group of speakers is invited to present their best investment ideas. This year’s lineup featured David Rosen (Rubric Capital Management), Mohammed Anjarwala (Advent Global Opportunities), David Einhorn (Greenlight Capital), and Ricky Sandler (Eminence Capital).

All proceeds from the conference fund programs that permanently move people out of poverty. Last year, Robin Hood powered 2,300 new teacher graduates with computational skills, connected 175,000 eligible, low-income households to $140 million in lifesaving benefits, improved birth outcomes for 11,566 mothers and infants, built and preserved nearly 1,700 affordable housing units and funded the distribution of 32 million pounds of food to 337,000 New Yorkers.
Since its founding in 1988, Robin Hood has invested nearly $3 billion in the fight against poverty, including investing over $350 million in education, opening 177 charter schools, and building more than 2 million square feet of space in high schools, soup kitchens, job training classrooms, and libraries.
