High-Quality Schools Fund

A high-quality education is fundamental to a child’s future success. However, in New York City, we face significant challenges. Approximately 200,000 children attend low-performing schools, where less than half of students read at grade level or are likely to graduate.

We believe that every child deserves access to an excellent education and aim to transform educational outcomes for students who have been historically overlooked and under-resourced. Robin Hood’s $14 million-dollar High-Quality Schools Fund was launched in 2019 to support the creation of new schools and redesign existing schools to ensure every student in NYC graduates prepared for lifelong success.

Why It Matters

A high-quality education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and putting young people on the path toward future economic success. It transforms lives by:

  • Ensuring students master the academic the foundational academic knowledge and skills to be prepared for future success
  • Igniting curiosity and allowing students to discover their passions and talents
  • Building resilience and emotional intelligence, and fostering civic engagement
  • Investing in high-quality schools, we improve long-term earning potential and create pathways to economic mobility and personal fulfillment
