Keyway Homes

Keyway Homes

Founded in 2025

Every year, nearly half of all government rent assistance checks go unused because the system connecting families to landlords is too slow, too manual, and too frustrating for everyone involved. Keyway Homes is a housing technology platform that fixes this by bringing tenants, landlords, and local housing offices onto one system. The platform automates the paperwork, inspections, and payment tracking that cause landlords to walk away, while giving families real-time visibility into where they stand in the process. In under 12 months, Keyway has placed 96 families into stable housing, reduced the average time from search to signed lease from 55 days to 14, and onboarded 42 landlords, 80% of whom had never accepted government rent assistance before. Keyway is free for families. Landlords and housing agencies pay for a platform that makes participation simple enough to be worth their time. Founded by Gabriel Leavell, a former Section 8 recipient turned real estate investor, and Keyaria Rhodes, a tenant rights advocate with over a decade in housing policy, Keyway is building the infrastructure to ensure every family handed a rent check actually gets a home.
